Based On Your Votes, Here Are The Throwback Top10 Countdown Results For The Week Of 8/28/17!
ATTENTION: Recently, you may have noticed a link popping up on our Facebook timeline requesting our readers to take place in a survey. This survey is very important to the near future of BORN Country and we want to have as much reader feedback in order to make the proper decisions for our fans. After voting in this week’s poll, PLEASE consider taking 1 minute (That’s literally as long as it takes!) to answer our quick 9 question survey. Thank you in advance!
It comes down to this! We have officially added the final country music hits from 1992 to the Throwback Poll! We will run with the current songs for the next two or three weeks until we are focussed down to the 10 songs that will move on once we begin moving into the country hits of 1993! ’93 sees a TON of huge names coming to our countdown for the first time, so it should be very exciting!
As far as this week’s Countdown goes, not too much has changed! Ricky Van Shelton comes in with his second week at #1 with “Wild Man,” and he is not the only artist to hold their position from the previous chart! Once again, George Jones, George Strait, Diamond Rio and Alan Jackson each take #2-#5 in the same order, respectively!
Billy Ray Cyrus climbs back up one position with “Where’m I Gonna Live?,” which is definitely one of my favorite hits of his career. Randy Travis and Kathy Mattea also advance a slot or two with “Look Heart, No Hands” and “Lonesome Standard Time.”
The only song to fall backwards a song this week is Shenandoah’s “Leavin’s Been A Long Time Comin.'” By no means do I think this song is going anywhere, but if voters want to see this one climb again, it’s going to be a challenge! Closing out the charts, John Michael Montgomery re-enters the ranks at #10 with “Life’s A Dance.”
Though no songs have been retired from the poll this week, a number of songs are seeing their final chance to climb to the top. If the songs from George Strait, Alan Jackson and Kathy Mattea fail to move forward in the next countdown, they will be removed to make room for upcoming songs. Never fear, however, as each artist has more songs coming up soon!
Retired From This Week’s Poll:
- No songs retired
Added To This Week’s Poll:
- Alabama – Once In A Lifetime
- Confederate Railroad – Queen Of Memphis
- Lorrie Morgan – What Part Of No
*Readers may vote for 3 songs, EVERY HOUR, until the poll closes on Sunday night at 9PM ET. Results will be posted shortly after, with a new poll opening at 6AM ET on Monday morning. Songs will generally be retired after 6 weeks or due to a lack of fan interest. If a song remains at #1 for 3 weeks straight, it will be retired as a “CERTIFIED BORN Country” hit!
